Gail McCormick is a Seattle author and psychotherapist with Midwest roots. Her memoir, Zoya’s Gift: Building a Bridge to a Global Family, was selected as a Finalist in the Pacific Northwest Writers nonfiction/memoir competition. Excerpts have received multiple awards from the National League of American Pen Women’s Soul-Making Keats Literary Competition and have appeared in The Timberline Review. Her earlier book, Living With Multiple Chemical Sensitivity, features a collection of narratives on how people with the social and emotional impact of this environmental illness.. McCormick is a former newspaper reporter and biographer, As a counselor, she has had the privilege of working with children and adults from diverse cultures to find their voices and create lives of connection and meaning. She volunteers her services to community organizations serving immigrants and others affected by dislocation and trauma. She holds an M.S. in Community Counseling and a B.S. in Journalism.
