Crystal Reyes is a Chicanx memorist & poet native to Houston and works as an educator. Currently, she holds a B.A. in Liberal Studies and a Master of Arts in Higher Education. She is a graduate candidate at Bay Path University, working on her MFA in Creative Nonfiction, and an alumni and TA with Community Literature Initiative. Her works have been featured in Entre Magazine, Voyage LA, Love What Matters & other literary magazines. She spends her off-time raising her children, traveling around the world, cooking up new delicacies, and advocating for the LGBTQ+ community. Description
Wildflower Blooming, is a debut collection of poetry by multidisciplinary artist Crystal Reyes. Her book tackles themes of femininity, motherhood, sexploration, Spanish customs, and healing through self-love.

She formerly found herself in a crisis of domestic violence, lingering to hold it all together for the sake of her first-born, she made the courageous decision to leave a toxic marriage, despite cultural norms. Instead of surrendering to depression or chismes de la familia, she made it a personal journey to rebuild her life around healing generational traumas and finding her true self in all her splendor.

Reyes examines what takes root after detrimental life-experiences, and cultivating wholesome moments from what was once broken. Her voice is unique as you will see many of her poems interweave & embed Spanish, English, & Spanglish together in various forms.
