Also, photography gets me outside."Emmanuel currently divides his time between Prague, Czech Republic and San Diego, California.Read more about this authorRead less about this author

An eyewitness account by Claudio Burgin of the deadly flood in the Mexican northwestern city of Tijuana in 1993. The flood took 66 lives, two of which were the parents of his best friend Antonio, who was also his assistant in the local political party PRI, which had recently lost the election and with it the power to govern.

Following the initial tragedy of Antonio’s parents being ripped from his arms is the folly of one political party, Pan, as its inexperience and ineptness hinders Antonio's attempt to recover his parents’ bodies. It will take the intervention of Mexico’s President Carlos Salinas, who would walk the muddy streets of the devastated neighborhood of Colonia Gabilondo to speak to Antonio himself as the nation watched.

Also included, as a bonus, in this edition are three pieces documenting the Mexican American experience by the author along with one short story. .
