Gloria Hanson has been writing poetry and essays since she was in grade school. As a bookworm and curious teenager, she would indulge in flights of fancy during those long after-school hours without television or a computer. Following a short career in Biology as an instructor and a long job as a wife and mother, she returned to graduate school to study clinical social work. She devoted herself to writing articles in her field during her professional life.With the departure of her children for their own lives, Gloria returned to her early love affair with writing. Now the passion consumes most of her days resulting in the publication of fourteen books spanning various genres and topics: creative nonfiction, fiction, poetry, memoir, and predictive allegory in a science fiction format. She sought to combine the world around her and in her imagination with the world beyond her. In the past few years, she explored issues and characters related to motherhood, grandmothering, and family relationships; most recently, she and a longtime friend collaborated on a book about seniors and the new normal, a humorous look at challenges in the technological age.
