Bambalazaabwe Ssemakula was born on 12th August 1969 at Kibaale-Jjovu on Buggala Island, the biggest island of Ssese Islands, Lake Victoria, Uganda. He spent his early education at Kibaale Primary school and later at joined Bishop Dunstan SSS during a difficult period of wars and instability in Uganda and therefore, education in Ssese Islands was in a total disarray.Bambalazaabwe therefore refers to himself as a person who went through schools but whose education at Primary and Secondary school levels was acquired through self teaching. In the final year of his secondary school level, with the help of his great friend, Charles Ong’aria, he read many novels and he was inspired to write despite his shortcomings.He wrote two scripts then including HOLIZONS OF LIFE which was mainly about the life he has lived during his childhood, which were never published due to several factors. He archived them instead.Having done his Uganda Certificate of Education, UCE examinations in 1990, in 1993 he taught as a Licensed teacher at Kibaale Primary school and in 1994, he went for training as a Primary school teacher. In 1999 he trained as a teacher for Children with Special needs.In between and after these trainings, he taught in several schools in Masaka, Kampala and Kalangala before he was elevated to a level of a Head teacher.But later, he left and opted for TV reporting, scripting, editing, producing and presenting while working with Vision Group based Bukedde TV 1, Bukedde TV 2 and Urban TV stations between 2010 and 2023 before retiring back to Ssese Islands in lake Victoria Uganda where he now lives.On retirement, he picked his writings from where he left more than 30 years ago. Although his writings may not follow correct English rules, he puts emphasis on correct ideas and concepts. He uses his YouTube channel titled ZAABWE MOMENTS to highlight and advance some of these issues.
