Author Rabbi Dr. Walter Oakley lives in Paris TN. He is a studious Scholar, and he has written Bible Courses for several Bible colleges on an international scale. His acclaim in Academic circles is well-established writing primarily on The Jewishness of Jesus, The Biblical Festivals, Triennial Torah Reading Cycle, and Rabbinic Hermeneutics. The current series “Emanations of G-d’s Virtuous Power” and, “Forty-nine Gates of Virtuous Power” stems from years of study and experience in deep spirituality and Judeo-Kabbalah. The idea of understanding man’s soul and internal spiritual composite began early in life for me. As a six-year-old boy, I was told to create imaginary friends. In a sense, I became “Walter Mitty” and began to live my life in daydreams. When I gained a little maturity, I wanted to accept some challenges I had been given concerning thinking of G-d, Praying to G-d, and thinking about His Word. The challenges were there to make me a spiritual man. But my mental state could not stay the course being occupied with incessant daydreaming. Therefore, my resolve was to master the soul (Neshamah), mind, will, and emotions. In simplistic terms, by daydreaming, I had laid the foundation I needed for the ministry without knowing it. In other words, the incessant daydreaming had taught me to focus my mind on the fantasy I created. This basic mental capture was exactly what I needed for sermon and lecture presentations. Firstly, I had to learn to capture the Divine Mind to achieve Spiritual Awareness. Once I mastered the art of capturing the Divine Mind or linking to it to the best of my ability I could focus on a verse and mentally dissect it into lecture form. As I studied the composite of the inner man, I realized that the spiritual part of the Neshamah (Soul) that I could access the spiritual realm and its endless secrets. These too could be fashioned into presentable teachings through the same principles. As my spirituality progressed, I realized I was practicing “Contemplative Meditation.” This of course allowed me to spend time with G-d. Eventually, this became my life's goal. However, I also wanted my visits to develop into sermonic form i.e., sharable with others. Therefore, my goal was to keep the dialogue of the visit and transcript that meeting into something sharable with others. Therefore, “Functions of the Human Soul (Neshamah)” is part of my research on “bringing every thought captive in obedience to Messiah.” This mental research and discipline has given me valuable tools needed to develop an even greater relationship with G-d. As will be seen below I eventually had a spiritual awakening following this practice. Nevertheless, I still wanted to remain faithful in serving others, and as a result, I still, to this very day try to record my visits with G-d’s Divine Presence as life lessons for others. Written below are many of these records. I have one general goal in this process, comfort those who need to be comforted.
