Author Name
Robin J Morgan (Author)
Robin has always been a writer of stories, many of which were never read, as for him it was just something he did. That all changed in 2007, when a friend found out about a story he had written, and asked to read it. Suddenly the word was out, and others started to ask about this story, which was a dystopian adventure set twenty six years, after a virus wiped out a large part of the population, and Robin found himself printing copies at quite an expense. The story was the first part, of what was to become a fourteen year project writing under the banner of the series Heirs to the Kingdom. In 2009 an Indi publisher offered to publish it, and the first three parts of the series he was writing back to back came out, but Robin was not completely satisfied, and in twenty thirteen, he made the move to revise the additions that had been published, and left the Indie to go it alone, under the banner of his own imprint Violet Circle.Books one, two and three were reissued under the VCP Imprint in May 2014, and followed in June 2014 with the fourth book of the series. Robin continued to write until 2020, when finally after the mammoth task of eight in depth books the fantasy series was completed. The series which follows the lives of Robbie and Runestone, is set in a woodland themed world that had grown up as a result of the fall of modern life, where buried below the grass and trees lay the crumbled a decayed remains of a once modern world. The story follows the rise of Mason Knox, and his Mother, known and feared as the ‘The Dark One, as they try to take over and dominate the country as it rebuilds into a different way of living. When they strike at the heart of the Woodland Realm, Robbie and Runestone are looked to as the future of their people, and start to fight back, in defence of their land the people who flock to them. Runestone has a magical past through her family line, and as she discovers the gifts of her line and family, she brings them together to help the cause of Robbie. The story follows their journey, and is a story of life, community and the bonds they share through their struggles, in what has grown into a captivating and thrilling adventure. With HTTK finally finished, but not forgotten, as Robin has hinted there will be stand alone books from his back notes to follow, Robin wanted to write something completely different from Kingdom, and in October 2020, he sat down to write what would become the story of Abigail, a nineteen year old student who has just completed her first year at university, and has to head home to her conservative rural village in the south of England.Having spent the year living in her dorm with her room mate Jemi, who has the nick name of Birch, she invites Birch to come home for the summer with her. Abigail has changed, she is not the prim and proper girl she was when she left for university a year ago, especially considering Birch is a wiccan, naturist studying sexual psychology, and is everything her home village will not approve of. The story follows their return home and the misunderstandings and chaos that follow, it was is a funny and yet profound story, which addresses many issues in modern life today.Happy with the way the book turned out, Robin continued to write, and has already written a five book series which he refers to as the Curio Chronicles. The first book Abigail’s Summer is now available, and having completed the series, which is based on his real life experiences and conversations from his counselling past, Robin has moved on and is currently working on other stories that are not related to Kingdom or Abigail, he is also working on more stories to follow on as stand alone book linked to Heirs to the Kingdom.Read more about this authorRead less about this author
