Throughout his career Jim Bender has mainly served as a troubleshooter for a variety of companies and organizations, both in the for-profit and nonprofit arenas. His extensive experience and targeted business acumen have resulted in numerous successful turnarounds, all of which led to sustainable long-term results. He has served as President of Bekins Van Lines Company, Senior Vice President of Graebel Companies, Vice President Development for JourneyCare (Hospice of Northeastern Illinois), and Adjunct Instructor in Entrepreneurship and Business Planning for McHenry County College, among others. He holds a Master of Science degree in Management and Leadership from Western Governors University, and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science/Pre-Law from Grove City College, as well as certificates in Nonprofit Fundraising from Northwestern University Kellogg School of Management and Nonprofit Finance and the Writers Studio from the University of Chicago Graham School. He has also served on a number of nonprofit Boards, including as Co-Founder and President of Monarch Hospice Foundation. Currently Jim is a Change Leadership and Turnaround Management Consultant for a niche consulting firm, specializing in serving as a confidential advisor to business owners.
