Sayyid Abul Hasan Ali Nadwi (1913-1999) was indisputably one of the greatest exponents of Islam in the second half of the twentieth century. He was Rector of Nadwat al-Ulama (Lucknow, India) and executive member of international Islamic organizations.

He received the King Faisal Award and numerous other awards from national and international bodies for his service to the cause of Islam. Shaykh Nadwi was a powerful, eloquent orator and writer in Arabic and Urdu.
