Abdul Razzak Rumane was born in 1948 at Chandve, a small village in Raigad District of Maharashtra-India. He is son of Abdul Rehman Hasanmiya and Rabia. He completed his primary education at Zilla Parished School in Chandve. Since the village had no facility for secondary education, he joined boarding school at Fajandar High School, Vahoor , a Urdu medium school, where completed Secondary School Examination (S.S.C.) in 1965 (First Class). He then joined Ismail Yusuf College for First year Science and then moved to K.C. College of Bombay University and completed Inter Science in 1967. He then joined Government Engineering College at Aurangabad and obtained Bachelor of Engineering (Electrical) from Marathwada University-India in 1972 (First Class). He was always keen to upgrade his knowledge and continued with professional courses. He received his Diploma in Modern Management from British Career Training College in 1982 and Diploma in International Trade from British Management Association in 1983. Since then he was interested to take up higher education, as he believed that education can only bring you to the top and thus will make you serve the community with better knowledge in hand. He joined Kennedy Western University and completed his M.S.(General Engineering) in 2002. The topic of thesis was "A Systems Engineering Approach to Construction Projects". He finished Ph.D. with topic of dissertation "Quality Engineering Applications in Construction Projects" from Kennedy-Western University in 2005. He was awarded Honorary Doctorate in Engineering by The Yorker International University in Italy in 2007.Dr. Abdul Razzak Rumane is a celebrated engineer having received numerous awards and medals globally. He is listed as one of the IBC's Top 100 Engineers-2009 and is an author of book titled "Quality Management in Construction Projects" published by CRC Press, Florida, USA (A Taylor & Francis Group Company).Dr. Rumane's professional career exceeds 37 Years. It includes varied experience in engineering field. It covers about 10 years of experience in production planning, material management, and vendor development for manufacturing, mining, fertilizer and petrochemical projects, preparation of specifications, contract documents, quality control,material inspection and inspection of electromechanical equipment. Over 27 years of experience mainly relates to construction projects. Well experienced in preparation of Design,Site Supervision, Checking and approval of project shop Drawings and materials , Review of Project Design Drawings, Design management, and Construction management of Electrical related Works including Low Voltage System, H.V. network, Fire Alarm System, Telephone System, Communication System, Public Address System, Audio Visual System, MATV, Security System, CCTV System, Lighting Protection System, Grounding System, Emergency Generating System and Conveying System, Building Management System, and Smart Building System. Well versed in preparation of contract specifications, documents,preparation of QA/QC specifications, BOQ, Shop Drawings,evaluation of tender bids and application of measures for conservation of energy, coordination of Electro-Mechanical Works, and Value Engineering. Assessment and evaluating the functioning of existing systems and preparation of technical reports for rehabilitation work. He is familiar with various national and international codes, regulations, quality standards and their implementation. During the career has ensured that all the works were executed as per specification requirements and meet the quality standards of Various National / International codes and standards. Dr. Rumane has served many organizations with an honorary capacity. He is the President of FRONTLINERS, Kuwait ( a service organisation registered with Embassy of India, State of Kuwait) for the year 2010. He also served in the same position for the year 2009. He was the Chairman of The Institution of Engineers (India), Kuwait Chapter for two terms 2005 and 2006-07, General Secretary for the year 2002-03, and Treasurer for the year 2001-02.He is married to Noor Jehan. She is a housewife. He has two children, one son (Ataullah) and one daughter (Farzeen). Son has completed B.E. (chemical engineering) and M.S. (computer science) whereas Daughter has completed B.E. (electrical engineering).
