Dave Stansfield was born in London, went to a grammar school and in his twenties studied the martial arts becoming a black belt self-defence instructor. After qualifying as an engineer he went into business and spent most of his working life in sales management travelling internationally. His first book The Assassin, The Grey Man and The Surgeon was written during these travels mainly in hotels, airports and on planes. He lives in East Sussex with his wife and two children. The Assassin,The Grey Man and The Surgeon was shortlisted for January's 2015 IPR Agent's Pick competition with the Andrew Lownie Literary Agency. D.C.
