Advance praise for Ties That Kill:"Libraries and medical thriller readers seeking stories that operate well outside the realm of formula reading or predictable plots will find Ties That Kill a standout and a winner. It's every bit as engrossing as Robin Cook—but contains a personal touch that brings its characters, as well as its changing dilemmas and ethical challenges, to life.

" -- Diane Donovan, Midwest Book Review"Brush up on your biology and break out your Punnett squares because Ties That Kill is a studied medical thriller with a distinctive genealogic twist. Leveraging the popularity of online ancestry sites, Deven Greene crafts an alarming tale about asking questions we may not appreciate the honest answers to.

The narrative includes lightly technical details that give credence to the science, technology, and medicine used to expand the plot. .

. .

Featuring an endearing family thrust into an extraordinary situation, Ties That Kill is a tense and authoritative medical thriller with a sturdy warmth radiating from its core. FIVE STARS.

" -- Jennifer Jackson, Indies Today"Ties That Kill would qualify as both a medical thriller and a police procedural. .

. .

It wasoddly satisfying to see the polar opposite male protagonists working together, one being the brainand the other the brawn. As a graduate student in Biology, I loved the technical details of DNA,fingerprinting, genealogy, and pedigree analysis.

The logical, step-by-step approach Deven Greeneused was akin to designing a scientific experiment. Although I had a hunch about the killer’s identity, the twists Greene kept hidden surprised me.

I recommend Ties That Kill to anyone wholoves a thought-provoking thriller with a superb climax. FIVE STARS.

" -- Shrabastee Chakraborty, Readers’ FavoriteFrom pathologist and "Erica Rosen MD" author Deven Greene, TIES THAT KILL is a gripping medical thriller in which a professor recovering from a stroke discovers that he has many half-siblings who may carry the same blood clot risk he does—but someone out there is trying to kill them all. Soon he is in terrible danger even as he must prove his innocence in a series of murders connected by one thing: DNA.

Chemistry Professor Martin Starling has a stroke and learns he has a genetic mutation that caused the abnormal blood clot resulting in his disability. Knowing he is the product of artificial insemination, the professor turns to genealogy companies to locate unknown paternal relatives he may have, wanting to arrange for them to be tested for the mutation.

He is surprised to learn he has many half-siblings. He is even more surprised to learn that someone is killing them.

Could he be next?. .
