Author Name
Jane Levingston (Author)
Hello everyone,I am Jane Levingston, and I am a newly published author. Very exciting.I was born and brought up beside the sea In Dalkey, County Dublin. The eldest of five children,I was, and I still am, a tomboy; swimming, fishing, sailing, and messing about with boats (and their owners)made up the main part of my early years. Although I initially left Dalkey in my early twenties, I returned when I met the man who would become the love of my life! (not my husband). Many years later, we moved to County Roscommon, to begin a rural way of life.My first four books cover separate periods of my life; The most recent, Mischief and Mixed Fortunes, is a compilation ofall four. Each is a 'stand alone' story, and I hope you will consider buying one, or all of them.I am now in my early 70's, happily retired and living in County Sligo. I work as a part time assistant with the local After school club, which I love.I still go fishing and camping when I have the time. The sea is only a short drive away, and calls me back on a regular basis.Thank you for taking the time to read this, and happy reading.Read more about this authorRead less about this author

What do a woodpecker, a workshop and the sea have in common? You may well ask!In this case, the answer will become clear as you, the reader, follow the childhood memories of a young girl growing up in 1950's suburban Dublin. Follow the ups and downs of Jane's formative years, as she does battle with school, her parents and authority.

This delightful story of friendship, fun, self-discovery, (and the occasional tear) will transport many back to a time of innocence and wonderment. The sea, and her love for all things maritime, is the constant thread that links her many and varied escapades.

It is a short, and hopefully, entertaining read which will leave you feeling glad about yourself, and possibly thankful for your own friends and family. .
