Pete Williams (Author)
As with many writers, Gary Peterson (pen name Pete Williams), draws from a wide variety of experiences. Some of the positions that he has held include: caring for those with special needs, carpenter, groundskeeper ( ball diamonds included), farmer, data entry clerk, fine dining waiter, restaurant owner, editor of a newspaper, columnist (lingering impressions, regenerative agriculture, health, gardening), truck driver, taxi driver, pastor, salesman, single parent and .....Born just before WWII began, Gary was raised on a farm and didn't have electricity or phone service until he was 6 years old. At that age, he saw his father buy his first tractor and then saw the evolution of farming through the modern age of large equipment and chemical farming. From 8 years in a one-room schoolhouse, (less than 12 students), running water was a luxury that came at the same time as television while in High School. At retirement age, he returned to his roots by farming for three years where he became involved with the Amish farming communities in a couple of communties. For those who have heard, they don't have enough time once they retire, Gary spent 3 months working as a volunteer for the American Red Cross during the Katrina hurricane season. He along with three books already published, has 3 more in the process of editing. He has been involved with several farmer's markets including furnishing the entire produce for several of them. He loves Karaoke and has entertained at homes for the elderly as well as for those with disabilities. In addition, he has given more than 100 speeches and had over 150 articles published. As age creeps up on him, miles-long bike trips have ceased as well as ballroom dancing. No longer does he live in a motor home. But, chess playing (taught himself at age 15, never played till retired) has become an important item in his routine. Card playing will soon be an added addition of hobbies. As time permits, if it permits, drawing and painting are on his bucket list. While working with the Amish, (the groups he dealt with don't allow pictures), he saw many unique instances that most will never experience and a picture is worth a thousand words. Gary's 18 month plan includes MO petitions for;posted food ingredientsgun controljustice for minoritiesschool teacher incentives As Pete Williams the author, he says he does not know where his stories came from. He never sat down to write a story and just took notes as scenes occurred to him. After writing "Talk to Me Dad!", he was asked when the next story would continue. He said, "There is no more story. This is it". But years later the continuing story just came to him and he sat down and made a quick draft. Within a year, the third continuing saga also appeared and again, he sat down and made a quick draft. When time allows, they will also be published.Read more about this authorRead less about this author
