Kyle Berkley is a husband and father from Baltimore, Maryland. He completed his education in Baltimore City public schools, graduating from Frederick Douglass High School. Kyle then attended Coppin State College with a major in history and later continued his education at Sojourner Douglass College and Morgan State University, where he earned his Bachelor's and Master’s Degrees in Social Work. In 2020 Kyle defended his dissertation "Practitioners’ Perceptions of Medical Compliance Among Homeless Clients with HIV and a Mental Health Diagnosis" and earned his Ph.D. from Walden University. In 2014 Kyle and his wife, Rebecca, created the 4 Us Initiative, which provided safe housing for domestic violence victims, and homeless families, and preventive care for adolescents. 4 Us Initiative was closed in 2018.From 1998 until 2013, Kyle wrote and produced music for various music groups, such as Dogg University, R-Sinal Records, Michael Reilly, Allen Stone, and Funk out the Trunk. He was a radio personality, along with Eri Carter, for Open Mic Radio. In 2014, Kyle was elected as a representative of the Baltimore City State Central Committee, serving 2 terms in office. Along with serving on the State Central Committee, Kyle has provided mental health therapy, grief counseling, and case management at Baltimore City shelters, hospitals, transitional houses, outpatient medical, crisis response teams, and substance abuse treatment centers. Kyle provides community services and grief therapy with Restoring the Village. In 2019 Kyle won the Women In Business Man of the Year Award for The Wake.
