Dr. Peter Bylsma is the author of the books in The Short Bible series, which have been translated into many other languages. The Simplified Short Bible was recognized as one of the 10 best Christian books of 2023 in the Best Indie Book Award international competition. His bestselling book, The Bible I Never Knew, was ranked #1 in the Religion/Biblical Studies category nationwide soon after its release in 2024. Pete spent 10 years serving in various Christian agencies before working 30 years in public service positions at the international, federal, state, and local levels. He was an accomplished athlete and a secondary school teacher, and then as a data scientist and program analyst, he researched many topics in an objective and non-partisan manner and summarized the issues for busy leaders. Before releasing his first book as a private citizen in 2021, he authored many reports and articles related to public policy and organizational effectiveness across multiple disciplines. He is now the President of both Byblio Press, a nonprofit publishing company, and the Bylsma Foundation. Besides holding a BA (magna cum laude) from Wheaton College in psychology, Pete earned a master’s degree in public administration and a doctorate in educational leadership and policy from the University of Washington (Seattle). He has lived in seven states and in South Korea, Malaysia, Germany, and the Netherlands.
