Born in Beech Grove, Indiana, M.A .is the middle of five siblings. As the oldest daughter, she took care of household duties and her younger brother and sister. She learned to cook at an early age and to this day, enjoys cooking for her family.In 1959, and early 1960s, she lived in San Carlos, California where many of her relatives still reside. After high school, she married and moved to San Angelo, Texas. She has also lived in Greensboro, North Carolina and Yalaha, Florida. Because M.A. thoroughly enjoys changing seasons, she eventually settled back in the Indianapolis area. To her, the climate is just right!​She worked as a Senior Buyer at a Fortune 100 company, and an Administrative Assistant at a large construction company before starting her own business in 1993. She kept busy traveling the country to trade shows and events. She began modeling at the age of sixteen and continued it as side work through her late forties. One of her most cherished memories is during her tennis days where she earned a state ranking. She also enjoys table tennis, pool, golf, and fishing.When her grandchildren were small, and spent the weekend, she would put them to bed and tell made-up stories. To this day they remember many of those unique tales. Her oldest grandson, Jay, is credited with motivating her to put pen to paper with his favorite: Shadows of December.In 1999, M.A, met her soul mate and current husband, Herb. They married at a scenic location overlooking Moraine Lake in Banff National Park, Canada. For decades, the two of them have enjoyed traveling the U.S. and Europe. Montana is where they intend to retire―part-time. Inspired by wildlife and snowcapped mountains, she particularly enjoys writing and dreaming up stories while in this part of the country.​Having been a state-ranked tennis player, M.A. ceremoniously supports the Indiana Pacers and Indianapolis Colts. However, she encouraged her children to choose football teams from different parts of the country where she and her family had lived, so she also backs her kids' teams (Raiders, Packers and Cowboys).M​.A. spends quiet time with her husband on their acreage south of Indianapolis.
