Thomas D. "Dan" Mull is a native of Hampton, Virginia and a graduate of the Newport News Shipbuilding & Drydock Company Apprentice School with a certification as a Mechanical Designer. Upon receiving their Homer L. Ferguson scholarship, he attended Virginia Tech where he received his BS in Mechanical Engineering.After graduation Dan and his family moved to North Carolina where he spent fifteen years in field and management capacities with an investor-owned electric utility. In 1989 he formed an engineering company focusing on energy management. Dan has consulted with several Fortune 500 companies and facilitated energy assessments throughout the US, South America, Europe, Asia, and Australia. In addition, He has also taught extension courses for several major universities since the 1980s.Dan has published several technical papers appearing in regional, state, and international publications. He has also authored one humorous article for a state wildlife publication. This current offering is his first extended effort at humorous writing.He is a Registered Professional Engineer - Emeritus, a Professional Energy Manager (PEM), and past Executive Director - Institute of Energy Professionals.Dan hobbies have included flying (private pilot), fly fishing (especially out West), and firearms instruction.
