They were married for three decades but lived separate lives. Tara's father has excuse after excuse for his behavior.

Attempting to discuss the situations to arrive at a resolution or admittance of guilt has always been a fruitless effort because even if there were witnesses, the abuse and neglect was still denied or Tara was told she deserved it. When Tara entered her late teens, the physical abuse stopped, but the rest continued, as well as some destruction disguised as unintentional.
