Paul W. Ivey (Author)
PAUL W. IVEY is an unassuming, confident, and contented Introvert. After an unpromising start when he was labelled a ‘dunce’ and relegated to the back of his class during his early childhood education, he has since earned five college/university degrees, including a PhD in biological science.Dr. Ivey has been an Adult Educator, Human Capital Development Practitioner, and Scientist at the secondary, college, and university levels for more than 30 years. He currently holds the academic rank of Associate Professor and functions in a senior academic leadership position at Jamaica’s leading public University. Dr. Ivey is a prodigious and voracious reader. He has evolved into a passionate Cerebral Activist and Griot-Scholar (socio-cultural historian, town crier, observer, commentator, and influencer), who is now deploying writing as a powerful cognitive instrument to craft books and novels that will animate and enhance readers’ minds by inspiring, motivating, educating, enlightening, enthralling, empowering, and entertaining them. His aptitude for writing emerged from as early as primary school, where he wrote creatively interesting essays. Dr. Ivey writes from his positionality and through the lens of an unapologetic Black African-Jamaican. So far, he has written and published 15 books. Some people describe Dr. Ivey as a scholarly, readerly, thinkerly, and writerly person, who scans luminously as a Polymath. This is the defining 'signature' of Dr. Ivey's books: They are well-researched and data-rich; the ideas and thoughts are conveyed to readers through lively, engaging, and lovely prose; and reading them is both an educative and enjoyable experience!Dr. Ivey immensely enjoys his ‘cognitive lifestyle’ and the psychological and physiological consolations and gifts of nature; he is anxious to retire soon to write full-time on the unspoilt, exquisite beaches of Jamaica, his country of birth and where he currently lives. He also writes short stories on Medium (https://medium.com/@paulwivey). Dr. Ivey's Facebook Page, 'THE MiNDFiELD', through which he may be contacted, is: https://www.facebook.com/paul.ivey.33.
