Ellen and her husband of 43 years retired to the Hill Country of Texas from their native Louisiana. Her first goal as a bona fide retiree was to finish the children's book she started 23 years ago. Ellen's subsequent work of passion was telling her heartfelt, palpable experience of caring for her mother, who had Alzheimer's. The journey lasted twelve years. She is an advocate for caregivers, as well as those suffering from severe postpartum depression, achalasia, and grief. Ellen spends time with her four children and five grandchildren when she's not writing. Her favorite hobbies include traveling with family or friends, concerts, and photography. Ellen is an active church member and enjoys lunches and coffee dates with her friends. She is also Chair of the local writer's club. She has always believed reading changes lives.
