Behind the name Ana Galana is the german author, singer and entrepreneur Annette Meisl. One day, a relative gave her an old suitcase full of letters and documents. Cuba, Spain, Germany and the world of tobacco appeared before her inner eye. The finds inspired her to open her cigar salon La Galana and to write a historical romance novel set in 19th century Cuba, with a courageous young woman at its center.The polyglot author, who speaks English, French, Spanish and Turkish as well as German, began her writing career as a reporter for the Badische Zeitung. Contributions to Rororo travel guides, tango texts and reports from Madrid followed. In 2012, her bestseller "Fünf Männer für mich - Ein SEXperiment" was published by Randomhouse. She has been a guest on numerous talk shows, such as Markus Lanz, Plasberg and the Nachtcafé.
