Nanette M. Holloway is a bestselling Christian author. She has written five books in three years, with more to come.Holloway is also an RN. She approaches nursing as a ministry, caring for the body, mind and spirit. She graduated from Oral Roberts University with a BSN and holds a Master’s Degree in Nursing Education from Southern Nazarene University. Her writing reflects insight and expertise in medical issues gleaned from her nursing background.While obtaining her Master’s Degree Holloway rediscovered her love of writing. Research of her capstone project revealed that approximately twenty-eight percent of caregivers caring for a loved one in Hospice, suffered from Prolonged Grief Disorder (PGD). Complicated Grief or PGD lasts longer than the normal six months or one year of grief following the death of a loved one. Caregivers were also high risk for developing other comorbid or chronic illnesses due to self-neglect from caregiving responsibilities. Holloway was acquainted with PGD following the death of her beloved father from cancer of the esophagus. Her caregiving journey culminated in a bittersweet year of blessings from God and answers to her audacious prayers concerning desperate end-of-life issues. God faithfully answered them all. Holloway’s beautifully written memoir, Before You Depart: God’s Touch Before Eternity describes the poignant realities caregivers face. Compounded by unrelenting grief during and after the journey.
