A.G. Rivett's fiction draws on the experience of a varied life.He was born in London where he studied medicine and went on to practise in hospitals, including a period in a leprosy hospital in northern Nigeria. Later, he was ordained into the Church of England, but subsequently returned to medicine as a public health doctor. He has married twice, and has three daughters.In 2006 he went to live in the Scottish Highlands where, through the Findhorn community, he encountered different spiritual traditions and practices, from shamanism to non-violent communication. He learned from all of them, but it was the ancient Celtic tradition of the Céile Dé (Culdee) that he followed and which continues to shape his world-view. While in Scotland, he worked as a volunteer on an organic farm before settling on a croft on the off-grid peninsula of Scoraig. All these experiences feed into his fiction.His debut novel, The Seaborne, has been described as a parable for our torn times. It is the first book of the Isle Fincara Trilogy, which he continues to write from his present home in West Wales.
