Rajendra Baikady is an educator, researcher and expert in social work education and practice with a Global approach. Currently, Baikady is a Assistant Professor at the Central University of Kerala. prior to joining CUK, Dr. Baikady was a special post-doctoral fellowship at the Department of Social Work, University of Johannesburg, South Africa. He has wide research experience in evaluating best practices of social work education and practice at both Local and Global level. He was awarded the Taiwan Government, Short-Term Research Award (2018), for academic research at National Chengchi University, Taiwan and the Confucius Institute Understanding China Fellow by the Government of China (2018-2019) for academic Research at Shandong University, China. He completed his Post-Doctoral Fellowship at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, Israel (2019-2020) and was awarded Golda Meir Fellowship by the Lady Davis Trust at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. In 2016 Baikady received Inlaks Research Travel Grant and ICSSR Travel Abroad Scholarship for his Doctoral research focusing on India and China. He is the editor-in-chief of the Palgrave Handbook of Global Social Change & the Palgrave Handbook of Global Social Problems (Palgrave Macmillan, UK). Notable work by Baikady includes The Oxford Handbook of Power, Politics and Social Work (Oxford University Press, New York), the Palgrave Handbook of Global Social Work Education (Palgrave Macmillan, New York) and the Routledge International Handbook of Field Work Education in Social Work (Routledge, New York). the former one questions and explores the ‘state’s’ role in social work development across the globe and later two explores the development, growth and challenges for social work education and practice across the globe.
