Yeshemebet'slife exemplifies the selfless dedication of individuals akin to MotherTeresa, who devote themselves to nurturing abandoned children indeveloping nations.

The book immerses readers in the rich tapestry of Ethiopia, anation steeped in history and marked by recent socio-economicupheavals, notably the 1974 communist revolution and itsantecedents. It examines Ethiopia's deep-rooted ties to biblicalnarratives through the lineage of the Kushites, juxtaposing thecultural landscapes of its Coptic and Protestant Christiancommunities.

Moreover, the narrative briefly extends its scope to thebroader African continent, delving into persistent challenges such asapartheid, colonial legacies, and the detrimental influence ofdivisive religious ideologies. It confronts the societal fractures thatunderpin contemporary issues like border conflicts, genocide,poverty, and disease, all of which have hindered Africa's progressfor generations.

In its concluding chapters, the book recounts my personaljourney as a refugee in Sudan, the internal schisms within theEthiopian Protestant Church, and my eventual resettlement inAmerica with my family in the 1990s. .
