Author Name
Diamond Nicole Williams (Author)
Diamond Williams is a mother turned poet from a small town in Texas. Growing up she envisioned her dream life in a big city, never knowing exactly where that might be. Moving to Austin at a young age, she pulled her creativity from the city she consideredhome. This is where she came into her own and started her family before fulfilling her nomadic lifestyle dreams by moving to places like Atlanta, Knoxville, Denver, DFW, and Huntsville.Williams started writing poetry early in life as a silent emotional outlet and began the poems featured in this book after her first miscarriage in 2018, continuing to write through each pregnancy and loss that followed. After years of writing in the privacy of her own journals, she realized that an open dialogue is what she wanted to contribute to the world through her written words. The Lost Trimester is her debut poetry collection.Read more about this authorRead less about this author

The Lost Trimester is. .

. a book for every woman who has felt alone, in a time she should have felt surrounded.

Created in hopes that these words can help them navigate their grief by guiding them to lean into the parts that brought them to their healing voyage, so that one day they'll know sorrow and happiness can coexist in a bruised heart. Purposely curated in a linear narrative, The Lost Trimester takes the reader on an empathetic journey through the emotional roller coaster of conceiving and pregnancy loss, for a raw inside look at the physical and mental pain it causes.

These poems are just as vulnerably ugly as they are beautiful and alleviating. Page by page, Williams is exposing society for stigmatizing an inevitable part of life while creating a space for an open dialogue about pregnancy loss.

Her diary-like writing style adds a relatable touch, shedding light on the feelings of others during an unwanted but shared female experience. .
