Carla Eggman-Garrett (Author)
I,Carla Eggman(-Garrett,) was born to a World War II, Purple Heart-Navy Veteran, and to a former Secretary of the newly formed War Department in Washington D.C., am a true baby- boomer. My Dad prayed to God to be spared so he could raise a family while his ship, the USS Enterprise, was being bombed. The oldest of seven children, I was raised on a small, twenty-acre citrus farm in the San Joaquin Valley of California in Terra Bella. Dad spared no one in our family the hard work ethics that both he and my mother were raised by. We milked our cows, irrigated and disked the orchards, picked and packed the fruit, and drove the trucks when fifteen to San Francisco to sell the fruit to our Bay area customers and the San Francisco Farmers market. My father introduced me to my first husband, a grape farmer, that was going under because of the grape boycott of the 70's. He was Catholic, I was Mormon. He was Yugoslavian, I was a "Heinz 57" American. He was a mommy's boy, I was an independent eighteen year old. Three strikes against a marriage is not good. Continuing my education with my young daughter, I went to Brigham Young University. Kyle L. became my next husband after the Lord in a loud voice told me to marry him. "Escape from Utah," is the book written because of the experience of his brand of polygamy that caused the flames of hell to follow me 24/7. I had to 'escape' with my remaining five children back to California. The desert town of Wendover, Utah, is where I got saved in Jesus in a Non-denominational church. "Miracle Walking, the story of Ralph Garrett," is the second book in the "Escape from Utah" series. After the vision God gave me about this man, I was impressed to wash his feet. Six days after we were married, this wonderful man was killed in an auto accident. While in heaven, he asked Jesus to come back to me because his love for me and my children. Jesus gave him his desire. We have been married for 30-plus years. His book tells about him being put in a corner to die when he was a baby because of his double-cleft pallet. The insults and persecution he had to go through as a child was terrible, but he served the Lord in spite of everything. "Filthy Rags before Me" and "Filthy Rags before Me 2," are my continuing search for the truth in Jesus. I was excommunicated from my birth religion because I would not shut up about my female ancestors receiving the Priesthood from the original Prophet Joseph Smith and my testimony of Jesus and his free gift of salvation with the example of the thief on the cross. Jesus pointed this out to me after he told me to tell a man that was in a coma to repent and turn to him. It was then that I held up the Bible to Jesus and God and said, "I know this book is a true book and every blessing and promise you made in this book is mine!" Relying on the Lord after repenting of my sins, He helped me to become a Psychiatric Technician (interviewing prisoners for their mental health including Charles Manson), AS Psychiatric Science, BA Liberal Studies, farmer, a Teacher in the California Prison system, AS Architect, and AS Building Construction. (The latter two because of my calling by God to go to Branson, Missouri.) "God's Branson Barn," is about God and Jesus guiding me to Branson, Missouri, and is now in print as of April 8, 2022. This is book #5 in the Escape from Utah series. "All (Mormon) Women, Reclaim Your Rightful Priesthood," has just been published by Amazon, August, 2023, and is now available. It is book #6 in the Escape from Utah series.Read more about this authorRead less about this author
