Reinhard Rael Wissdorf (*1959) was born in Speyer/Pfalz and has been writing stories, novels and essays since his early youth. In addition, Rael Wissdorf was deputy editor-in-chief of the magazine "Filmfaust - Internationale Filmzeitschrift" as well as other magazines. His short story "Bombay Business" was awarded the culture prize of the BvB Bergen-Enkheim in 1994.In fact, however, he first became a musician. He studied concert guitar at the Akademie für Tonkunst, Darmstadt, played at the Darmstadt State Theater (and even composed music for special events) and was guitarist and singer in several rock bands. Since 2003, he has published regularly in various genres."The world is big and colorful, so I never wanted to settle on one genre. In the meantime, however, I have settled on fantasy. I want my readers to immerse themselves in the books, and experience diversity in their encounters with a wide variety of characters. My books should first and foremost entertain, but not completely without depth. That's why I place great value on thorough research - you can only learn."Wissdorf wrote a fantasy novel without magic and mythical creatures, but with a twist that will knock the reader's socks off. "Yanthalbor" is an example of how worlds can be fantastical without wizards wielding their staffs or warriors wielding their magic swords. Since May 2017, his sci-fi trilogy "Hawks Effect" has been available, which he co-authored in English with American authors Nicholas Hede and Frank Williams. This epic series is about nothing less than the fight against gods. In 2020, his prequel to the Cave World saga was published under the title "The Legacy of the Dragonlord."Since 2020, he also turned back to composing instrumental music.
