Evan J. Haines began his career as a self-defence instructor. He taught reality-based self-defence for nine years to high-school students and adults. This style of self-defence was designed for surviving the worst and most aggressive situations, such as assault, muggings, home invasion, multiple attackers, and assault with a deadly weapon. While teaching self-defence, Evan was also completing a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychological Science from the University of Adelaide. He now works as a clinical hypnotherapist and writer. He puts aside time each day to write fiction, self-help, or short stories. His background and education make him the right person to have written his first novel, The Last Head Hunters. Evan has written a self-help book How to Slay Dragons and Other Monsters Within, which he primarily uses with his clients. In time he would like to prepare this book to reach a broader audience. He has worked alongside editor and mentor, Helen Hutton, to complete his first fictional novel The Last Head Hunters. He also completed the Novel Writing Masterclass Series with Jude Aquilina. He has done many writing courses, including Finding Your Voice, Synopsis Writing, Character Development, and Descriptive Writing. Evan was also a member of the Marion Scribes writing group for three years.
