Rock and jazz drummer Jeff T. Wade studied under the great Dale Armstrong for most of the 90s in Nashville, Tennessee. When Armstrong accepted a percussion teaching position at Belmont University, Wade followed him there to pursue a Master of Music Education with an emphasis on drum set. Not long after enrolling, Wade joined the faculty as a percussion instructor and adjunct ear training teacher. It was during this time that he documented the linear independence system by which he taught—and the Demystifying Rhythm series was born. Two years later, he released The Infinity Book, a reference work cataloguing every linear pattern of one to four limbs, from one to seven notes, organized my number of limbs used and successive attacks (singles, doubles, triples, etc.) As of 2024, Wade lives in Miami, Florida where he teaches Taekwondo and Aikido at his dojo, South Miami Martial Arts.
