An award-winning sci-fi author, editor, software quality engineer, and entrepreneur, Jenn Fir (pen name of Heather Jones) has been immersed in ideas, product development, and storytelling for over fifteen years. She holds a BS in Business Administration and Management Information Systems from the New York Institute of Technology and an MA in Publishing from Western Colorado University’s Graduate Program in Creative Writing.

She has edited two books. The first is a new release of the legendary weird sci-fi story The House on the Borderland by William Hope Hodgson (WordFire Press, July 2024), which bears a brand-new foreword penned by New York Times bestselling author Jonathan Maberry.

Jenn’s second edited work is an original short story anthology, Feisty Felines and Other Fantastical Familiars (WordFire Press, July 2024), which was co-created, curated, and published by Jenn and her Publishing MA cohort at Western Colorado University. As an author, she has won five awards for her five submissions to the Writers of the Future contest, one of the world’s most challenging short story contests.

She has also written three novels and has several more in the hopper. Jenn divides her time between California, Oregon, and the driver’s seat of her pickup truck, usually on I-5, which is an excellent stretch of highway for thinking up new stories.
