Author Name
Harald Lutz Bruckner (Author)
It was my mother who instilled in me the desire to read and write during the waning years of World War II. A camouflaged copy of “Gone With The Wind”, wrapped in plain brown paper, always rested on her night table. The book had become forbidden fruit after the United States became an enemy of Hitler’s Germany. She often quoted the protagonist of the famous novel, making those phrases her own and helping her through the worst of times. With nothing worthwhile doing, I picked up the book and read it for the first time at age twelve. I’ve never stopped reading. My life has taken me on a personal and professional roller coaster ride that brought me after my initial education in Germany to the New World. I pursued a career in business during the first eleven years of living in the United States. My wife knew that I had other aspirations and encouraged me to fulfill my inner dreams. Having attained degrees in comparative literatures, I learned that nothing in life is perfect. Fearful of not having the guarantee of an academic appointment at the end of nine years of study, I switched to a medical school and earned my PhD in Audiology. I loved teaching and counseling; the classroom became my stage, especially when teaching Sign Language. I retired from academia after twenty-five years and discovered there was an afterlife. I began to paint and write, finally finding my niche in life. It's the many detours that have become my inspiration to write. As I'm approaching my 90th year on this earth, I'm working on my eleventh book, my tenth novel. "Resurrection" is a sequel to "Doretta's Damnation" and takes place during the early weeks of the war in Ukraine. I hope my faithful readers will eventually enjoy the story as it unfolds.Read more about this authorRead less about this author

Rosalindenstraße 36 was built at the turn of the last century and withstood the vagaries of time and two world wars. Its occupants suffered through inflation of unheard proportions, times of depression, hunger, deprivation, and the highs and lows of their lives.

Were it capable of speaking, the dwelling would share the tales of the rise and fall of a dynasty. An eerie dream takes the reader from floor to floor through the entire structure and opens the window to an event that takes place in 1996.

Detectives Apfelbaum and Sattler are dealing with a possible murder and encounter the charms of the elderly storyteller Amalia Dorothea von Eichendorff-Dingdong. It is Amalia’s sharing of information that leads to amazing conclusions relevant to the corpse of Walter Hahnenkamm resting in the morgue at police station #41 in Rüttenscheid, Essen, Germany.

During the course of the investigation, Apfelbaum travels back in time and falls in love with the vision of a much younger Amalia as he is haunted by the musical score to the movie Somewhere in Time. About the AuthorHarald Lutz Bruckner, author of The Blue Sapphire Amulet, Escape on the Astral Express, A Wanderer on the Earth, The Born-Again Phoenix, Harald’s Garland, Lighthouse Mystery, Doretta’s Damnation, A Backward Glance at Eden, Obsessive Compulsion, Forever Greta, and Resurrection hails from Germany but has spent his adult life in the United States.

Endorsement"Harold Lutz Bruckner does it again. In his new page-turner, Bruckner introduces us to Amalia, an eighty-five-year-old woman, who reveals the tragic tale of her closest friend, Elsa, to Max Apfelbaum and Moritz Sattler.

Sergeants Apfelbaum and Sattler become duty-bound to investigate the mysterious death of Walter, Elsa’s despicable son. This is classic Bruckner storytelling—emotionally compelling, fast-moving with surprise twists, and chock full of today’s critical issues.
