BIORachel L. Hawkins- Luckett is the only sibling born in Chicago, IL on December 18, 1969 to Sherman Lee Gibbs of Crossett, and to the late Eula Mae Hawkins. At age 6 came to Crossett, AR and reared along with the help of Grandmother the late Juanita Hawkins where she was a member of Campground A.M.E. Church in Crossett, AR (Rev. C. L. Lovett and the late Rev. A. L. Owens). In 1988, moved to Pine Bluff under watch care Rev. W.R. Norful, Sr., Rachel received a 4-year Track Scholarship and an All-American in Mile Relay (3rd leg) Vancouver, Canada in 1991. She graduated from the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff with her Bachelor of Science degree in Hospitality/ Dietetics on May 1994. She received her Master of Science Degree on August 14, 2003, from the University of AR for Medical Sciences in Clinical Nutrition. Rachel has 4 beautiful children Audriana (34), Chelsie & Kelsie (24) (Identical twins) Kendall Luckett (18) son, and 1 grandson Caleb Horton (15).Rachel was first called to the ministry and first licensed under Bishop Steven M. Arnold. While under his ministry she “birthed” When Real Women Pray Ministries, Inc. 2001 in her home with seven women present. She later was Ordained and Apostle under the leadership of the Late Chief Apostle L.A. Braggs. On the third Sunday of March in 2018, Rachel returned back to her rearing and joined Bethel A.M.E. Church North Little Rock, AR. Under the direction of Presiding Elder Tyrone A. Broomfield. Ordination of Deacon was October, 2021 and assigned Third (3rd) Pastoral Appointment to Allen Chapel African Methodist Episcopal Church (A.M.E.) of Atkins, AR by The Right Reverend Michael L. Mitchell, Presiding Bishop.Her professional and personal experiences have allowed her to travel to St. Mark Haiti Mission Team in 2001 & 2006. Rachel received a full paid trip from the Affiliate Arkansas Arthritis Foundation Mexico, in 2011. Rachel has been employed by the AR Department of Correction Tucker Unit (7years) Food Manger & Classification Officer, Future Builders, Inc. As IPA Guide for the Affordable Health Care Act, (1year) Arkansas Department of Health-Diabetes Coordinator (6years), Adjunct Professor for a year (1) at Ouachita Technical College, Malvern, AR. Presently, Licensed Insurance Agent for Sherman Agency/Security National Insurance company. Currently, Shorter College North Little Rock, AR as Adjunct Professor for the Second Pell Program over 3 years and employed at the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff 1890 Program (9) years as Extension Specialist II/Urban Outreach Director for UAPB North Little Rock Site & UAPB Main Campus. Rachel is a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. and was prior a Chaplain for Little Rock Alumnae of DST. Rachel served as an appointment by the former Governor Mike Huckabee to the Division of Volunteerism for a term of January 2007 to January 2009. Her goal is to return in the Spring, of 2024, as a Ph.D. Candidate from Walden University in Health Services/Public Health Policy. Rachel recent accomplishments is about to release her 1st Book called “The Finisher” My Winning Season no later than March 0f 2024. She will be inducted to the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff by Letter A’ Club’ UAPB Track Athlete Hall of Fame August of 2024.Pastor Rachel strives to divinely connect others in ministry and professional and she believes it all works hand in hand.
