Patrick was raised around church all his life, first as a Catholic and then as a Full-Gospel Pentecostal. His journey was full of ups and downs as he navigated the change from one belief to another. It wasn’t until his early twenties that he made a true commitment to follow God and, with that, his faith journey. He worked in the oil field, where he led his first bible study among men who wouldn’t go to church. Patrick went to bible school for a year and was married to his wife, Janet Thompson. Their first ministry position was a preaching tent revival, and from there, they went on staff working at a church in Eunice La. After serving there for three years, God moved them to Houma, Louisiana, where they have served for the past thirty-one years. Pastor Thompson has written a daily devotion for the past nine years and has worked on the Divided Kingdom over the past fifteen years on and off. Pastor Thompson serves on several ministry boards and has led his church from twenty-nine people to over one thousand over the thirty-one years he has been in Houma. Pastor Thompson has been Ordained with the Assembly of God for over thirty years, and Pastor Thompson started preaching in Angola State Prison Camp D after five years; he started an Assembly of God church in Angola State Penitentiary main prison and has partnered with missionaries around the world to build churches, orphanages, drill water wells, and fund out reaches into places that have been closed to the gospel.
