After graduating St. Mary's High School in Manhasset, I attended the College of the Holy Cross in Worcester, MA. My law school degree was from New England School of Law in Boston, MA. For many years now, I have worked as a partner in a law firm in downtown New York. My litigation background was essential to my efforts to describe in the book the experience of actually being at a deposition or in a Courtroom. In writing the Complaint, my first novel, I couldn't help but make fun of some of the silly things that lawyers tend to do, while still maintaining a serious tone for the more dramatic aspects of the book. Brian Bradford finds himself in difficult, life threatening situations on a number of occasions, but is fortunate to have relationships with several very accomplished women to support and aid him.In fact,the legal theme of the book was the platform I used to explore the complexities of Brian's interaction with these women as outside forces pressured their lives. On July 1, 2016, Pegasus Books released an eBook and hardcover copy of the sequel, THE DEVICE TRIAL. Since several readers of THE COMPLAINT mentioned that the ending was too abrupt, I was anxious to continue the story-line as a sequel yet provide a more satisfying conclusion. There are still some dangling, unresolved themes, but only what was necessary to set up the lead into the third novel in the series.In THE DEVICE TRIAL, New York attorney Brian Bradford once again finds himself immersed in a legal battle with ZeiiMed that escalates into another life and death struggle. He survives only because of the efforts of several female companions that intercede on his behalf.While this description may likewise fit the theme of my first novel, I believe THE DEVICE TRIAL provides a more exciting story, better developed characters and a tighter tale with less deviation into extraneous areas.THE DEVICE TRIAL involves Brian's lawsuit against ZeiiMed for the design and manufacture of a defective hip replacement device. The litigation results in a trial in downtown New York, with the cross examination of witnesses and a jury in the box.
