Mark Peckett is the author of two books on applying Aikido principles to every day life and a book of short stories based on the martial arts. He has been practising Aikido for over 40 years. He was awarded his 1st dan by Shihan Ralph Reynolds, one of the first British aikido black belts. Since then he has studied under many sensei both in Britain and abroad and he is now 5th dan. In 2011 he started his own club, Goshin Aikido, and became chief instructor of Aikido Academy UK in 2014. He teaches Aikido at weekly classes and at seminars. He is also a certified teacher of Lee Style Tai Chi.He has also written the first two fantasy book in a trilogy for young adults called "Strange Gods" set in the here and now as well as alternate history worlds, ancient civilisations and lands of myth and magic. The first book is called "Joffie's Mark" and the second "The Blue Man." He has also written a book of short stories for adults loosely weaved around the theme of the martial arts called "Tales of the Tiger" and with the author Ian Meacheam he has co-written a murder-mystery set in the cathedral city of Lichfield called "The Slipped Knot" and a book of stories about growing up and growing old called "Seven Stages." He has also contributed a ghost story to the anthology "Unshriven" edited by Andrew Sparke.He is currently working on the third book in the "Strange Gods" series, the second in the Lichfield murder-mystery series with Ian Meacheam and a new trilogy for young adults about teenagers with superpowers.Read more about this authorRead less about this author
