Author Name
James A Heaton (Author)
James A. Heaton was born in Greenville, SC in 1972 on the 21st day of July. Sharing the same birthday as Ernest Hemingway, James fell in love with the simplistic but descriptive style of Hemingway. A self-described creative, James is not just a writer but an accomplished guitarist, and a classically trained visual artist. An alumnus of Savannah College of Art and Design in Savannah Georgia. James develop a fascination with the beautiful town of Savannah, Georgia during his studies in 1990. Amongst the colorful characters, he felt at home in the oldest city in Georgia. In 2002 James returned to the city to start a new life. It was there he began his first book, A Long Drive to the Coast and shortly after completed his second work, Life with Bipolar Disorder (2019), in which he shares his personal struggle with bipolar disorder. James’ first book, A Long Drive to the Coast (2019) was twenty years in the making. It details his time in Savannah Georgia before he moved to the Bahamas in 2002. Exploring the personalities of the many people he befriended in the city, James captured the essence of the locals with stories like Elizabeth Jenkins. In 2021 James released A Compass Star – The Complete Short Stories. But it had always been his dream to bring the characters together from his favorite stories. The Savannah Trilogy brings together James and Elizabeth from Elizabeth Jenkins, Jason and Ellen from The Treasure and introduces Eric and Amy. As an activist for Mental Health Awareness, James maintains a blog, podcast and book series, Life with Bipolar Disorder. His goal is to break the stigma associated with mental illness. Many of his stories include characters with mental health issues as a way to include real life into this world.James lives in Greenville, South Carolina with his wife, Angela, and their three dogs.Books and Vella Series available:A Long Drive to the Coast Life With Bipolar Disorder A Compass Star The Rocking ChairThe Last WinterThe Savannah TrilogyThe Tree of LifeThe RiverThe AnchorThe Savannah VampiresExclusively on Kindle VellaI Am, Death (2021)Crescent of Time (2021)The Devils Island (2022)The Girl, the Guitar, and the Devil (2022)Read more about this authorRead less about this author
