About Rick LindstromRick Lindstrom is a former insurance company chief executive officer whose financial thrillers highlight fraud and other crimes against insurance companies. This is his breakout published novel and his second and third are being finalized for release. He gained his practical knowledge of financial crimes firsthand. Rick held executive and board positions with several well-known insurance companies and has consulted with dozens more. He has witnessed the crimes and known the criminals who form the basis of his stories. Born in Chicago, he attended Northern Illinois University where he received a Bachelor of Science degree plus graduate studies in mathematics. He has lived in ten states and spent time in fifty. Professionally, he was a Registered Principal with the NASD (now Financial Industry Regulatory Authority) and achieved the Chartered Life Underwriter designation from the American College of Financial Services. When asked if readers are interested in insurance fraud, Lindstrom says, “They say they’re fascinated with the topic. It doesn’t matter if my readers know anything about insurance fraud. If I write clearly, they simply need to know I know what I’m talking about. To them, a novel about insurance fraud can be every bit as fascinating as stories about Wall Street mergers, murder trials, or twenty-third century life on Venus.”Rick is inspired and supported by his wife Kim without whom, he says, he’d never have begun his writing career. Her experiences as both a business-savvy nurse and health insurance executive have contributed to his stories and his success. “But her most important contribution is as my loving wife,” he says.Rick and Kim share an enthusiasm for Western Washington, the home of his main characters, as well as the setting for his first novel. They also enjoy traveling, sailing, golf, photography, and their grandchildren. They spend their time in Arizona, Southern California, and the San Juan and Gulf Island archipelago.
