Rare and novel, the Tamaskan Dog was bred to look like a wolf yet has a calm and sociable personality. One of the breeds used to create the Tamaskan was the Siberian Husky; hence the name "Tamaskan" is a combination of two words: the Finnish term "tama," meaning "brave" or "courageous," and the Russian word "husky," referring to that breed.

• Tamaskan Dogs are large to medium-sized working dogs that resemble wolves in many ways. They have a sturdy, athletic frame, upright ears, a thick double coat, and a variety of coat colors, most commonly gray, red, and black.
