When Rufus Brown, the brown dragon with snagged golden wings, a preference for burnt food and a hatred of his cousin, discovers that many of the pet silkworms and glow worms from Tildale, (including his own pet silkworm, Spinner), have suddenly gone missing he sets out on an adventure to find them - one that puts him in mortal danger. Rufus enlists the help of Captain Ambrose “Shnozz” Johnson, a retired military centaur with a highly sensitive nose to help track the pets.

The pair are soon joined by a fairy named Sorilla Rosewater and a unicorn named Lazar Lightening, both of whom are nearing their graduation from Enchantederra High School. Two very different and frightening beasts along with other folk ensure that they each must use their wits and their different skills to cope with a succession of difficulties and dangers as this tale of Tildale unfolds.

As humans travelled by sea or by air to this ancient land and settled into communities with those who already live in this place, they were accompanied, (unbeknownst to the humans), by a few of the creatures from their diverse myths or stories. Invisible to the humans and much smaller, these creatures established their own communities.

This is a work entirely from the imagination of the author and depicts a community where not all dragons are fearsome, not all fairies are good, not all cyclopes are dangerous and not all leprechauns are mischievous - although some are. No actual centaurs or pixies etc.

are depicted in these works of fiction. Any resemblance to any folk from these tales of Tildale is purely coincidental.

The second book in this series will soon be available and is "Tales of Tildale, Book 2, Sorilla". Whereas the first book focuses a little more on the dragon, Rufus, the second book focuses more on the fairy, Sorilla.

The third book in the series will be released a bit later and will focus more on the unicorn, Lazar. These tales emphasize the multicreaturecultural nature of Tildale, with the benefits of friendship and cooperation and are unfused with a gentle humour and a general sense of community.
