Jonathan Schmidt grew up in a small town in Illinois; he earned his bachelor’s degree from Southern Illinois University and his MD from the University of Illinois. During his Family Medicine residency, he was voted Chief Resident by his peers and focused on Direct Primary Care (DPC). After residency he joined a DPC practice in Indianapolis which allowed him to develop strong relationships with his patients and focus on preventative care. As a result, he became an early adopter of GLP-1 medications (like Ozempic/Wegovy, Mounjaro/Zepbound) for his patients and himself. He has discovered helpful methods to not only use these medications for weight loss but also to keep the weight off long term after stopping the medications.
