Welcome to the second edition of our Orthopaedic Surgery Postgraduate Fellowship Exams preparation book. We are thrilled to present this updated resource, designed to help you succeed in your exams.

Orthopaedic surgery fellowship exams worldwide typically consist of two parts: a multiple choice/single best answer (SBA) section and a clinical exam comprising oral and practical components. While Part 1 is relatively straightforward, candidates often struggle with SBAs, which require a deeper understanding of the subject matter and the ability to choose the best option among several plausible choices.

We agree that exam questions format may vary from the ones that candidates practise online or through different books, constructing an SBA is a long, tiring and time taking effort and sometimes to construct a good Level 5 SBA it can take up to hours. Usually in exams there are various levels of questions from Level 1 to level 5, level 1 questions are very much straight forward as the level increases.

The question is testing your knowledge, interpretation and assessment leading to diagnosis, investigation and treatment. Candidates struggle to find MCQ/ SBA books that can provide high yield tested topics with evidence based answers and relevant explanations.

We understand that constructing high-quality SBAs is a time-consuming and challenging task, and we have endeavoured to provide you with a comprehensive resource that addresses this need. Surviving Orthopaedic has so far published two books one this SBA and the other is clinical guide book, and after untiring efforts we have been able to produce the second edition of over SBA/ MCQ book this year.

We have added more standard guidelines, evidence references, QR codes, and reference books to ensure the content is authentic and up-to-date. We acknowledge that no book can claim originality, and our goal is to present recognized and relevant orthopaedic knowledge in a concise and accessible format.

This book is intended as a practice guide to supplement your studies, not replace them. We recommend using it to test your knowledge and reinforce your understanding of key concepts.

Theory exam is essentially believed to be linked to extensive reading generally but we believe it's a combination of things that you learn during your training and then go through the reading materials. I myself and other contributors of this book has taken exams of different countries that include United Kingdom FRCS, European board FEBOT and indo-Pak exam MS, FCPS and DNB and we all are of the view that following are the most useful study materials altogether for each of these exams.
