oryzaeand (35±1%) and relative humidity (70±2%) for T. granarium.
The varietiesincluded 10 composite, 8 hybrids and 12 inbred lines for S. oryzae and 17composite 13 hybrids for T.
granarium. The evaluation was done by usingstandard no choice progeny method.
Twenty sound grains of each varietyreplicated thrice were infested with 3 pair of newly emerged adult (0-12 hrsold). Varietal rating was done on the basis of adult emergence after 60 daysof infestation.
Other parameters like percent weight loss and percent graindamage were taken into consideration for rating varietal resistance. The natural compounds from the plants have enormous potential to beexploited properly as an alternative to synthetic pesticide.
