Once, asked by a journalist: ‘What are you?’ Jorge Centofanti answered: ‘One can be many beings, many lives, and many alternatives…I was, however, born a poet. At 17 I published my first poetry book and then another two which readers liked very much’.After having those books in print, I became a journalist, travelling up and down Argentina, where I was born, interviewing and writing articles. I left the country when I was twenty-four to lead a nomadic life that took me to several parts of the world. In Paris I learnt French and became an artisan working with leather, which changed my life and led me to start spiritual and self-development studies.Having found the woman of my life I moved to England, where we settled. I had studied English since my early teens, which was essential, and Italian, as I love languages and they have opened many paths for me. Then, by necessity, I became a businessman and was successful in that domain, learning at the same time the different values of the cultures I encountered in my travels.For 30 years I did not write a line. Then, coinciding with our move to the South of France, one day poetry came knocking at my new door and since then I have not stopped writing, publishing five books in succession: ’32 Poemas Numerados’ in Spanish; ‘Fábulas Reales’ also in Spanish; ‘Anthology of Songs about Love’ in English, French, Spanish and Italian; ‘The Love Received’ also in four languages and the very latest, ‘Love & Life Sonnets’ in English, with a Spanish section of ‘Gazales de Amor y Vida’.I would say that I’ve had and continue to have a rich, grateful life.Read more about this authorRead less about this author
