John W. Musselman was born in Amsterdam, The Netherlands, to a Canadian father and Dutch mother. Exposed to different locales during his childhood from Curacao, the Netherland Antilles, Lugano, Switzerland, San Remo, Italy, and Rota, Spain he gained an appreciation of the many multicultural experiences afforded him. These travels would continue throughout his adult life when he served in the United States Air Force. After a distinguished 26-year career he had completed numerous assignments stateside and abroad, culminating in postings to the US Embassy Rome, Italy and US Embassy London, United Kingdom. Transitioning to a civil service position located at the US Embassy the Hague, Netherlands he came full circle returning to the country of his birth. His first foray into writing is the book 'Undaunted They Flew', which has been a life-long pursuit to discover the exploits of his father's service during WWII as a Lancaster bomber pilot. The immense void left by his father's early passing compelled him to turn to the pages of his bequeathed Pilot Logbook. Engrossed and curious about what the logbook contained he would undertake a twenty-year journey of discovery to reveal the remarkable story about the seven lads of legendary Lancaster AS-R2. The subsequent title 'Shining Sword' is a companion piece to 'Undaunted They Flew' and chronicles the cradle-to-grave journey of Lancaster bomber ME-746. Detailing the aircraft's origins from her assembly at AVRO Metropolitan-Vickers in Manchester, to her wartime service as the oldest Lanc on 166 Squadron, through her final days. She captured the spirit of the time and culminated in what was a charmed and illustrious existence. John's third book 'Nowhere's Children' is a suspenseful horror story taking place in the isolated town of 'Nowhere' and details the travails and fragile relationships of the Gurdy family. Desperate to hold on to the reins of power as the world around them seems to pass them by they turn further inward, forming a closed society. From enduring tests of their faith and facing morality issues, they become inextricably caught up in a downward spiral into hell and eternal damnation.
