I was born to write! With a pen in my hand at age 8, I began writing poetry and short stories. I would awake in the early morning hours coming up with thoughts and quickly writing them down. The thoughts generated into poetry and short stories. As I progressed through the years, I kept the poetry and short stories but never published. I felt that my works were not good enough for others to read. I felt that writing was no place in my future as a steady career. I obtained degrees in the computer field and networking and then ventured into a Master's Degree in teaching. The drive within me was still there to write. As a teacher, there was no time to focus on my writing career plus I was surviving. It was not until the loss of my husband, that I wanted the world to hear of my great loss and to provide resources for those who would go through the same agony and to find the strength to overcome the obstacles. Here I am now 64 years old finally publishing a book. Is it too late? I have been told there are many writers that find their way to being an author in their later years. So here I am!! My first book "A Thousand Tears". My next book is about the Juvenile Detention Center - and what an adventure that was for me!! I am a non-fiction writer. Some day I will try my hand at fiction, because I was once told that Science Fiction was another gift underneath the soil of my hands. Feel free to ask questions about my experiences with Alzheimer's and the many ways it effected my husband and myself. I will discuss the many resources that the State provides to assist you and your family with Alzheimer's and memory loss. I will be happy to discuss the many experiences and situations I endured during my 3 year employment with the juveniles. Due to privacy issues, I will not be able to reveal the true names of the juveniles. We can only hope that many are living productive lives today. Through "Let Them Be Heard", I am speaking for them! We can all learn about life from these boys. It brought tears to my eyes, but it helped me appreciative my own life through their eyes and their poetry. I am currently writing my autobiography "Silent Tears", which will come out next year 2024. We all have a story to tell. I think back over the years and feel that what brought me through some dark days was knowing that there were people I could reach out to that would listen and care and help me to feel free of those "dark days". "Silent Tears" is my way of healing. It will also provide relief to those who have gone through abuse and depression to know that there is healing. This is not just my story but it is my siblings story as well. This book provides ways of building self-esteem and healing processes. I hope that those who read this will also come to the reality that they still are in the need of getting the help to repair their own lives and bring a stronger relationship with others. It is never too late. I'm near completion of "Silent Tears" which will contain pictures of my family. I retrieved my poetry that I felt that I needed to include in this book. Poems that indicate my state of mind throughout the years. I am anxious to complete this book and move on to more pleasant writings that will inspire others to smile and laugh and enjoy life. In the coming year, I will be creating a book called "Finding Happiness." I have completed my autobiography of "Silent Tears." The reader will find that this book will provide suggestions to building self-esteem and learning to overcome obstacles. For those who know me now, would be quite astonished of my state of mind in the past. I buried my thoughts and words to others - no one knew of the abuse. I feel that I needed to express to others that there are ways to develop a more stable life both in mind and spirit.
