Author Name
Christopher Coates (Author)
I grew up in Cape Cod Massachusetts and moved to Michigan to attend Davenport University’s Paramedic school. I reside in Kent City, Michigan with my wife of over 30 years. We have a son and daughter, both of whom have graduated college and live out of state.I am a retired Firefighter/Paramedic who works full-time in Information Systems for a major West Michigan company. In my off time, I enjoy traveling to unique places, family time, and my 2 dogs who keep life fun. I have published 7 novels, all of which are on all major platforms and in print. Some feedback he has received includes:Good, creative story that was engaging and very readable. I enjoy The End of the World novels, and would enjoy seeing more about the survivors. From a tech stand point it well thought out work. Good interplay through with a few decent twists. Not pushy on agenda just a good read. This was a great read. Unlike many books in this genre this focused on preparation. Great plotline and characters. Read it now :)I only acquired this book because I saw that it was free in the Kindle store, and the description was somewhat interesting. I opened it up yesterday, and I was quickly hooked. I stayed up til midnight to finish the book. The author takes elements which have been used before and turns them into a refreshingly original and enjoyable story. It has a little bit of conspiracy, but not the 'geesh, can't they see he's a bad guy' kind that too many post apocalyptic stories have. Also, there were a lot of likable characters. This is a really good book on post apocalypse society. Kept me captivated through the whole storyline. Love it!The Ark by Christopher Coates is a magnificent story !! I especially like apocalypse-themed novels, and this one was one of the best !! The characterization was very fine -- the people had real personalities, real relationships, and redeeming qualities. I highly recommend it to anyone who enjoys this type of fiction !! Wonderful book. Just a couple of pages in and I was hooked. Great storytelling, interesting characters, and plenty of excitement. The only thing I hated was for the story to end.I really enjoyed this read. Science fiction should have a healthy dose of science and this book delivers. In light of an overwhelming, world-altering catastrophe the collective will to live finds a way. Looking forward to the next book by this author.Enjoyed the book a lot, good premise, and interesting story line. Really want to see a book 2 in the near futureI loved this book, it was hard to put down and read it in a couple of days. I highly recommend it.Quite believable and a great read. Not to slow, not too fast and no long winded descriptions that make you forget what was being described. Enough action mixed in with futuristic ideas that make sense. The plot changed direction well and kept me interested. Looking forward to more from the author. Great story line, hard to put down! Makes me wonder what Chris actually knows about what our government is planning or already has in the works. Can't wait for the next!I loved reading this book. I have read other apocalyptic books and this one was one of the best. I just hope that there will be a sequel. This was not your typical end of the world novel. Rather than being focused on one main character that saves all the survivors. You have multi characters that are well developed and work to save what they can of a world that is going to die. It also had well thought out tech. that was consistent throughout the story. Not my normal read but I enjoyed this book.New wonderful premise to an end of the world book. A different kind of ark, and a different way to die. A lot to do in a story and this really works. It is a real pleasure to find a new author that I know I will be reading a lot of! I liked the people and was truly attached to them and I was surprised often enough that I could not put it down. Great book!Read more about this authorRead less about this author
