I am, I suppose, approaching what is considered the twilight years of my life. According to the Cambridge English Dictionary, it is the time in your life when you rely on pets for comfort and companionship. In simple speak, it is when your friends are dying all around you and your longest relationships, outside of family which never visits, are your pets. I'm not there yet, but definitely headed in the right direction. Before you start fitting me for my casket, I'll tell ya, I'm 66 years old. I've lived a lot, but still have plenty of living left in me, if I use my head and avoid skydiving and swimming with sharks. I'm the husband of one (which is plenty,) father to seven, grandfather to nineteen, and with several bonus grandkids. I make a living working as a Master Electrician at a major healthcare facility. Some evenings and occasional Saturdays, I teach at several local community colleges. While I have held many jobs centered around electricity over the years, I have a wide and eclectic range of interests. Among the many interests in which I indulge, the more prominent are drawing (portraits) and painting (landscapes, seascapes, and portraits,) singing (karaoke and even the National Anthem at a local baseball team games,) and, of course, writing. My writing interests cover a wide range as well. I have poetry I have written over the years (over 500, one dating back to before 1975.) I have numerous short stories. I have several published works, a work covering our dealing with Alzheimer's, two collections of poetry, and two Bible Studies. Beyond these facts, I live in a small town and work in a large city. During the lengthy drive to and from work, I prefer to listen to audiobooks over the radio or nothing at all. Since the quarantine measures of COVID-19 have stopped any karaoke, my chosen outlet for singing is singing in the car with my wife or belting out tunes at work to the utter chagrin of my coworkers. I am a conservative liberal or a liberal conservative, I can't ever remember which. I believe what I believe for me and allow you can believe what you believe for you. I am still a Christian, despite the bitter taste the word now has in many folks mouths. It seems it is an insult from one group and a weapon from the other. For me, it is what it has always been, simply trying to live my life in a way others might see the love of Christ through me. My Bible Study book on here is about praise. My other Bible study book is about love. Yes, yes, I know, all the controversial stuff. I also have several poetry books on here dating back nearly 50 years. That's the nutshell. If ya wanna know more, just rap on my shell.Read more about this authorRead less about this author
