Maureen Anthony is a New England native from a large provincial Catholic family that instilled in her the strong values of faith, family, and friends. She is the proud mother of one son, a step-daughter, and three granddaughters, along with being an aunt and great-aunt to many. The oldest of six children, she was a born caretaker who eventually became a Registered Nurse and completed her business degree. Maureen worked in corporate health care for almost three decades. She ultimately owned and operated Tender Loving Care, a successful home care services company in Providence Rhode Island. Never having written much more than corporate memos, Maureen joined several writers’ groups that gave her the skills and confidence to pursue writing. Seven Little Words is her memoir of unexpected circumstances. In 2017, just weeks after her mother’s death, one phone call changed the trajectories of her life and the life of her ex-husband of over thirty years. The challenges that ensued brought her face to face with devastating memories from her past while the skills she possessed from her nursing and business backgrounds played a critical role in navigating her heart-wrenching journey. Today, Maureen resides near the beach in sunny Fort Lauderdale, where she enjoys cooking, entertaining, reading, crocheting, and writing.
